We heat and cool homes and offices, drive vehicles, watch television and films, travel by air, ships or trains, use the internet, kitchen equipment and listen to music and the radio.
We innovate, play, create, develop technologies which consume more and more energy whilst our planet is being destroyed by our rapacious needs.
To be able to do everything we do - we use energy to do it.
But we have worked very hard over the last 10 years or so to see if we can find alternatives that nature and humanity will accept. The catastrophic wildfires in California finally gave us the solution.
And as we develop our society, we consume more and more.
Although we know that it is harmful to the environment and humanity to burn fossil fuels, we need the energy for our lives, so there seemed no alternative but to burn it.
